God's Word on the Gospel

When Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, our Savior replied by saying, "it is written..." (Matt. 4:10). If someone tempts you to question God's Word on the Gospel, you can respond like Jesus did and say: "For it is written," and then support your statements with what the Scriptures say!

What is "the Gospel"?
(1 Cor. 15:1)

"that Christ died for our sins...." (1 Cor. 15:3). For it is written:

"He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed" (Isa. 53:5).

"and that He was buried...." (1 Cor. 15:4a). For it is written:

"His grave was assigned with wicked men, Yet He was with a rich man in His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth" (Isa. 53:9).

"and that He was raised...." (1 Cor. 15:4b). For it is written:

"He will prolong His days" (Isa. 53:10).

"and that He appeared...." (1 Cor. 15:5). For it is written:

"He will see His followers" (Isa. 53:10, Berkeley Version).

Don't let Satan deceive you. The Gospel includes Christ's death, burial, resurrection, and appearances. We have God's Word on it! Have you believed it? If not, do so today!
