When C. I. Scofield Answered a Grace Hater

In the booklet When a Christian Sins, Paul R. Van Gorder relates the incident of when Dr. C. I. Scofield answered a grace hater. Here are the details:

"C. I. Scofield once preached a sermon titled, 'The Abounding Grace of God.' When he was finished, a man approached him and said, 'If I believed as you do, I would go off and have my fill of sin.' Scofield looked squarely into the face of this uninstructed, misguided Christian and replied, 'Child of God, just how much sin would it take to fill you?' This man's emphasis was totally wrong."¹
